Here is our short film: we still have to edit a few areas of this until it is fully finished. But we have posted this here to gather audience feedback for when we return from the Christmas break.

This is our final version of our film with improvements made from the audience feedback we gathered!

FINAL FINAL VERSION!!
FINAL FINAL VERSION!!
Well done - you have a successful outcome here. It is a well crafted piece - some lovely camera composition and continuity editing. The setting is also well chosen. As it stands, we have awarded it 33 out of 40 - that is level 4 excellent. However, I do think that you can improve the grade by tweaking a couple of parts. Bare in mind that the only version that we could watch was the one on your blog as nothing was in the completed file.
ReplyDeleteThere is one problem in the piece and that is light continuity. It suddenly goes very dark outside and there is no feel of this being a slow process. Then when outside, your lighting levels are very inconsistent. We would recommend that :-
1. You correct the lighting saturation outside at the end making it all the same (the darker background once he has fallen).
2. Ettie's characters lines after the collapse are very poorly edited - they are clunky and this needs to be smoothed out.
3. There is nothing that you can do about the sudden turn to night inside the restaurant - a shame but never mind.
Make these ammendments and you can increase the grade here.
Poster - Excellent - it is a 9 at present, but if you change the line spacing on the one review, you can go to 10. Simple to do.
Review - a few tweaks on the format.
1. Drop letter - sans serif font required
2. Number rating - justification is all wrong - align number to right and A, E,I all need to be justified to left of paragraph.
3. Paras - justify left and right of each column
4. You need a page number.
Overall, very well done - you have worked very well on this.
