The car that the couple will arrive in is a red BMW (as pictured).
This car belongs to people that we know so was therefore convenient for us to use.
'BMW' is associated by many people as expensive and this is how we are trying to represent our film and characters as. It coincides with the formality of the location and the dress code further creating a wealthy representation of the people.
The Pill/Tablet
We have decided to use a solid rather than a liquid as the poision, as we feel it will give a better/more dramatic effect when dropped into the glass.
We will use some sort of vitamin tablet that dissolves when in contact with water.
In the film it will show the antagonist dropping the pill into a glass however we will actually film it by using a large, clear container. This will allow for more space for the pill to move around without hitting any edges, and also make it easier to film.
From searching through google, this is the type of effect we would like to have. ( https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=tablet+in+water&espv=2&biw=1280&bih=880&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Qco2VLuPCuau7AbWmYD4BA&ved=0CCAQsAQ#imgdii=_ )
The same sort of plot was shown in ITV's Emmerdale, however using a liquid form. As the man went to put the coats away, his drink was drugged.
Here I did a small experiment with a tablet dissolving in water:
The place we've chosen where Rachel gets ready is just a bedroom. We will only use the dressing table and mirror.
The use of the 3 mirrors creates a very feminine environment, and we will then put her make up and hair products placed on the table to make it look more glamorous.

Some good thinking here.
ReplyDeleteThe dressing table - just the mirrors does give it a much grandeur feel. Going close here and avoiding the rest of the furniture will help create a more classy feel.
Make sure the car is clean and polished for effect
The pill shot - look carefully at how this effect is achieved - You will need an establishing shot of the pill entering the drink - however, when the pill is dissolving, it might be best to have a dissolving pill in a much bigger glass container, that will allow you to film just water and fizz. Bit similar to what we looked at in class.
