Rejected Ideas

A mind-map we created whilst discussing story's and ideas.

One of our ideas involved the theme to be based around crime. There are a few reasons why we have decided we didn't want to go through with it:

  1. We thought that the story may become too cliche and that our audience would find it too predictable, therefore it wouldn't be fully engaging.
  2. With a lot of modern crimes having the involvement of drugs or alcohol, it would make it difficult for us to find correct props, whilst still making sure we are being safe - it could also be seen as unethical by some viewers.
  3. The Silence of the Lambs.
  4. Finding appropriate locations may also prove difficult. The Silence of The Lambs is a film based on crime and from researching it they use an asylum/prison setting which would be hard for us (as a low budget) to be able to create such good standard.

A further idea was for a family themed film however we decided not to do this because:
  1. The idea isn't as diverse as what we could do with our chosen storyline so could end up being boring or seen as an 'easy' option.
  2. It could end up being chaotic as we would need to enlist quite a few actors to play the family roles.
